Function:
The optical main distribution frame is the interface between the cables from the distribution network and those from the equipment.
Used in conjunction with sub-racks, this main distribution frame makes it possible the utilize the various existing cable structures (indoor or outdoorcabling, slotted core or tube structure, monomode or multimode fibres).
Cables enter via the top or the bottom and are routed behind the subtracks. Cross connection between the heads is accomplished either through jumpers of appropriate length or through jumpering the indoor cable heads.
Since 32 U of space are available in the rack, this repreesents a connectability of 576 fibres using 72 protector cable heads.
Two identical racks can be placed side by side to obtain higher capacities.
